Pre and Post Natal

ABC Pilates offers specially designed pre/post natal programs that are safe and gentle for the expecting mother.

When a woman becomes pregnant her body begins to produce various hormones responsible for causing her joints to soften. Thus
a pregnant woman can be very prone to injury of the weight-bearing joints of the back, pelvis and lower extremities. Using special
techniques for the pregnant woman, Pilates will help stabilize areas as well as help strengthen, tone and maintain flexibility. Pilates
will also help you strengthen and gain control of muscles used in delivery. After pregnancy, Pilates helps the body quickly get back into
shape and helps re-strengthen the areas affected by pregnancy and delivery. (After doctor's approval and 6-weeks recovery).

The use of the C-shaper, fitness ball and other Pilates equipment assists in reactivating the muscles of the pelvic floor and
abdominal muscles. Also, Pilates helps in the realignment of the spine/posture for Diastasis Recti and pubis symphasis
derangement, as well as working on overall body strength, toning and flexibility.
